the story…

For as long as I can remember I’ve thought leather was the most badass and beautiful thing a person could wear. I loved everything about it - the feel, the colours, the look, and even the smell. But I’ll never forget the day I first turned over the tag on a new leather jacket and saw that it was over $800.

Nowadays I wouldn’t consider a new leather jacket even if I could afford it, for the simple reason that I’m not contributing to the ongoing harm to animals and the environment. It also helps that vintage leather jackets are way cooler than any new one could be.

I have always loved fashion yet never possessed the patience required to operate and understand a sewing machine. However I’ve always been artistic, which is what led me to graduate with a BFA from the National Art School with a major in Printmaking.

I began painting on leather jackets, shoes and bags I’d find in op shops in 2017 and had every intention of painting and selling many, but life and laziness got in the way of properly pursuing it until now.

My hope is that these one-of-a-kind pieces can find new homes, and remind people of the value and beauty in vintage and slow fashion.
